Challenging Racism: Custom Programs

Challenging Racism: Custom Programs are educational programs designed for specific organizations or groups on tailored topics of interest. From time to to time Challenging Racism works with organizations who are seeking specialized training associated with their mission.

• We partnered with Ford's Theatre in Washington DC to provide teacher training related to the racial themes in Sidney Lumet's 12 Angry Men and August Wilson's Fences.
• We worked with a local mother's group to develop the workshop How to Talk to Your Children about Race.
• Using funding from the Virginia Humanities and Kellogg Foundations, we worked with a group of middle and high school actor/divisors to create an original work related to the history of black-white relations in Arlington Virginia.
• Using a five session format, we worked with the Arlington Partnership for Children, Youth and Families to explore topics of racism that they encounter in their human services work.
